If spoilage or damage beyond repair, such as scale loss, loose or slipping hair, fur, or feathers has occurred before the animal was frozen or upon thawing, it may be refused. I base my repair fees on the individual circumstances at the time I receive the mount or upon thawing it, not on anything that occurs during the taxidermy process.

Each specimen to be mounted will be checked with the customer. A customer specimen tag and necessary information will be filled out in a taxidermy logbook. Hunting, trapping, or fishing license will be needed, as that information is required along with any tag needed for identification. Loss due to fire, theft or natural disasters not covered should be included.

Tanning Process

Tanning of any animal is done at the owner’s risk. Many variables, including the health of the animal, weather, condition of the skin, scales, fur, feathers, or improper handling may affect the outcome of a quality tan. If an incident happens during the tanning process, an insurance claim maybe submitted to compensate the loss The limit of liability will be determined by the current actual market value of similar species.

Caring for Your Mounted Trophy

First, a mounted trophy must be kept away from excessive heat from any type of heater, fireplace, or sunlight, as well as extreme cold and moisture. The best place to display a mounted trophy is securely on an inside wall, high enough to be safe from any household dangers.
